Six Special Spots in Kassandra

Of the Halkidiki Peninsula's three long green fingers, each of which unfurls into the Aegean, Kassandra is the westernmost and the liveliest. This land of verdant forests and flower-filled meadows, sandy beaches and pretty red-roofed villages is also home to glamorous coastal resorts, clifftop boutique boltholes and rural retreats aplenty. There's plenty of choice when it come to hotels in Kassandra; our list highlights six special spots for a fabulous holiday. If you're looking for great nightlife, base yourself in Skala Fourkas or Sani, where you'll find chic bars, buzzy tavernas and some great late-night dancing. During the daytime, these towns — and Kassandra's other villages — are lovely for scenic strolls along narrow lanes lined with boutiques and cafés.

For a Seaside Boutique Hotel

Rigas Boutique Hotel is a buzzy cliffside bolthole in Afytos, on Kassandra's eastern coast. The 34 chic guest rooms are clad in grey, cream and blue tones, with Scandi-inspired furnishings and striking sea views. The open-plan restaurant spills out onto the terrace, perfect for fun, laid-back evenings — before or after you head to the bars of the village.
Art Boutique Hotel has 18 individually decorated rooms with bright upholstered headboards and smart interiors. Expect very reasonable rates and an appealingly lively location in the southern seaside town of Pefkochori. Sip sunset cocktails on the rooftop before you head out into town for the evening.
Afitis Boutique Hotel is another Afytos favourite, with airy minimalist guest rooms overlooking the ocean, plus two good restaurants and a cool swimming pool. Spend your days on the private beach or strolling through the lively village, where bars, tavernas and boutiques abound.

For a Tranquil Hideaway

Petrino Suites is the most low-key of our Kassandra recommendations. A simple stone house has been transformed into a set of suites and apartments which share access to a pool and private beach. Hide away from the crowds in blissful tranquility, not far from ancient Athitos. The regional cuisine is top-notch.

For a Big Beach Resort

Sani Dunes is a beautiful beachfront resort with swish guest rooms and suites featuring modern artwork, natural materials and stunning sea views. On Kassandra's western coast, it's a brilliant resort for active travellers of all ages, who can enjoy everything from watersports to spa treatments. A luxurious spot with four restaurants and a real buzz.
Sani Beach Hotel, an enormous resort with 400+ rooms and suites on the west coast, is a family favourite. White-and-cream contemporary interiors promise dazzling sea views, marble bathrooms and sleek shared spaces. The lagoon-like pool is a big draw for the kids, who will also love the beach and stacks of activities including tennis, diving and sailing. Big and bold.
