Buckinghamshire, or 'leafy Bucks' as those who've fallen for this county's charms call it, has within its boundaries notable British treasures, like Bletchley Park and Stowe Gardens, and some spectacular countryside, including the chalk escarpment of the Chiltern Hills. Home to the Prime Minister's country residence, Chequers Court, Buckinghamshire has more than its fair share of beautiful grand country residences. And a number of these have been beautifully converted into some of the most romantic hotels in Buckinghamshire.
Buckinghamshire is close to London, so it’s an excellent mini-break option if you’re coming from the capital. But its rolling hills and expansive woodlands, plus the graceful houses and pretty towns, make it a travel worth destination if you’re looking for romance in a rural setting. Our Guru’s recommendations for 6 of the most romantic hotels in Buckinghamshire are broken up into recommendations for the most romantic country houses, and most romantic inns - and there are a good number of each, plus the best spas and hot tub hotels.
