Best Hotels in Midtown Village

Roost East Market

Midtown Village is a vibrant neighbourhood in central Philadelphia, home to the iconic 'Gaybourhood', with its fabulous nightlife, as best experienced on Locust Street. Then there's 13th Street, lined with boutique shops and quirky cafes, walls erupting with street art and whimiscal murals — one of the coolest, most Instagram-worthy places in the city. Midtown Village is so central that it's near everything else — including the historic centre — so major historic sights like Rittenhouse Square are within easy walking distance and you can easily get to the Avenue of the Arts, with all its theatres, galleries and live music venues. The best hotels in Midtown Village are well-placed for both indulging in the frenetic nightlife and exploring the historic sights nearby — but our two selections couldn't be more different. One is a cosy stay in the heart of 'Gaybourhood', while the other is a collection of stylish self-catering apartments on Market Street.

For the nightlife

Inn on Camac

  • If you're looking for somewhere snug and discreet in the heart of the 'Gaybourhood' buzz, check out Inn on Camac — a cosy, self-service inn above a popular bar on the corner of Locust Street. Set in an old colonial building, with light and airy rooms, it's right in the midst of the nightlife. It's also within walking distance of the historic old town and Rittenhouse Square. A central stay in a fun location!

For an apartment

Roost East Market

  • Roost East Market is best if you want an independent option — it's a collection of stylish apartments on Market Street. They're little self-contained islands of tranquility, perfect for families, with a heated rooftop pool, community vegetable garden, gym and landscaped terraces. These super-chic apartments are well-placed for sightseeing too, being just a three-block walk from Reading Terminal Market, and an easy stroll to Rittenhouse Square!
