And talking of Watergate Bay… its owner Will Ashworth (whose parents ran the hotel before him) has formed a hotel company called Another Place and is developing two further properties.
One is Rampsbeck, on the shores of Ullswater, which is currently open for business but will close for refurbishment later this year and reopen in 2017; the other is a new development in historic Royal William Yard in Plymouth Docks, where a new £18 boutique hotel will be created in the next couple of years.
Both are set to be exciting new addresses with – like Watergate Bay – a close association with the water beside which they are located.
