About Bundi

A charming little Rajasthani town overlooked by the imposing Taragarh Fort and Bundi Palace. Peppered with the Bhramin blue houses and interspersed by narrow lanes with stubborn cows obstructing them. This is authentic Rajasthan. Kipling was a fan and it is alleged that some of the pages of “The Jungle Book” were penned here. Our pick of the best places to stay in Bundi are evocative of the town’s vivacity and culture.

A kaleidoscopic town, Bundi celebrates festivals in traditional Indian fashion: filled with music, bright palettes and overflowing plates. Visit during Holi, India’s spring festival, when the town is awash with colour, or during the Teej festival, hailing the onset of the monsoon.

Overlooking the town, Bundi Palace and further skyward, Taragarh Fort are grandiose constructions. The palace boasts immaculately maintained mirrored murals whilst up to the fort is an entertaining walk, past spying monkeys and the odd wild pig. Well worth it for the 360 degree vistas.

Our pick of the best places to stay in Bundi are all steeped in history and excellently priced.
