About Maheshwar

Meaning “Great God”, one of Lord Shiva’s many epithets, Maheshwar is located along the banks of the holy Narmada River. Built on the site of the ancient city of Somvanshya Shastrarjun Kshatriya it is referred to in many of the Sanskrit epics and steeped in tales of mythology.
