Start with the surreal landscape of Hidden Vlei, the Dead Vlei, and Sossusvlei, surrounded by towering dunes in shades of red and orange, and take the time to bask in 300 days of sunlight all year round. Deadvlei is a photographer’s dream, one of Namibia’s most spectacular sights, with its starkly contrasting colors and pitch-black acacia trees estimated to be 900 years old. Don’t miss the unique Cape Cross Seal Reserve, home to a thriving seal rookery and black-backed jackals as well as an abundance of other wildlife.

To experience some of Namibia’s best game-viewing, explore the 8,600 square mile swath of the Etosha National Park, home to over 114 mammal species, including penguins and the endangered black rhinoceros, and 340 bird species to marvel at. Make sure to stop by the archaeological sites, or try your hand at the safari activities available at the campgrounds.

Choose one of the best places to stay in Namibia and explore some of the African continent’s most unique experiences in the wide-open wilderness. Prepare to be surprised and inspired!
