It turns out that we know about lots of family friendly hotels in Paris, ranging from hotels perfect for newer or smaller families, to Paris hotels for families of five or more. But we’ve slimmed our list down to the 14 best family hotels in Paris to give you a sense of all the different kind of family friendly accommodation there is in Paris. Les enfants will j’adore it!
For Paris Chic
- The Hotel des Grands Hommes is a refined townhouse hotel right on the doorstep of the Pantheon in the 5th Arrondissement. The decor is fantastically 19th century, with some great Napoleonic touches, like formal motif wallpaper and neoclassical objets d’art. But what we’re really recommending it for is the size of its suites, which have a lounge area as well as multiple, or interconnecting bedrooms, so there’s plenty of space for your family to relax. And of course the location is fantastic: opposite one of Paris’z most famous landmarks.
- Close to the Louvre and with a Michelin-starred restaurant probably aren’t top of our list when it comes to choosing a family hotel in Paris, but those are just some of the reasons we love the Hotel Castille and we think your family will too. One of the main reasons we think this is a great family hotel is the range of rooms and room sizes. There are 108 rooms, some quite bijoux and some as large as an apartment, so there’s going to be something to fit you. Its rooms come in a range of styles too; you'll find classic 1930s France in the Rivoli wing, and contemporary France in the Opéra wing. This recommendation might not be for every family, but if you’re looking to treat yourselves then this is a fantastic, centrally located option that you’ll really remember.
- You might guess from the name: the Hôtel Splendide Royal, Paris, that this is another treat of a hotel, though it’s much smaller than the Hotel Castille with only 12 rooms. Because of the fewer rooms there’s not as much choice for families, but their suites are designed to be interconnected if needed, so there’s still quite a few options available. You might think the classically French decor too opulent for children, with its antiques and beautiful fabrics, but they actively welcome families, in their restaurant too. The location in the 8th Arrondissement, close to the Champs-Élysées, means that you’re centrally, and stylishly located too.
The Most Luxurious Family Hotel Rooms in Paris
- The Hotel Le Meurice is famously Paris chic: it offers five star luxury in a fantastic location overlooking the Tuileries, with Versailles themed decor and a Michelin-starred restaurant. There are 160 rooms and suites and some of them could probably accommodate your family plus grandparents on both sides, and more. But it’s not just the size of the family suites that sets this hotel apart as a luxurious hotel and a luxurious hotel for families, there are lots of little details, from a toy library to treasure hunts, a special city tour, special children’s menus and babysitting facilities. And they seem to do it all for you at the drop of a hat. Maybe while you’re in the spa?
- Family or no, Le Bristol is one of the most luxurious hotels in Paris. And it’s always nice as a parent to feel as if your children aren’t forcing a change of lifestyle upon you! In the heart of Paris’s designer district, this 188 room hotel is big but very friendly, and they positively welcome children with their own kid’s club, kid’s lounge and there’s even a hotel cat to play with. There’s plenty of choice when it comes to accommodation, and even the smallest of the family rooms are spacious by Paris standards. The hotel also has a beautiful central courtyard and it’s the only hotel in Paris with a rooftop pool.
The Best Hotels with Family Suites
- The Hotel Balmoral is a 50 room hotel occupying an elegant Haussmann building on a quiet street just a few steps away from the Champs-Élysées. The Balmoral’s Family Suites are really comfortable for families, offering two adjoining rooms in a comfortable, contemporary style with a chic feel and some great modern art. Stay here and you’re also within walking distance of many of Paris’s major sights, and there’s a great local park. There’s no restaurant but there are plenty of places to eat and drink in the area.
- The Hotel de Lille is a stylish, 15 room hotel in stylish, and central, Saint Germain des Prés. The building is 19th century, but the decor is contemporary and fairly minimalist, but homely too, like a very neat apartment, but still an apartment, with things like books on bookshelves and photos on the walls. The family suites have two bedrooms and some living space as well. And the location makes sight-seeing a breeze. There’s no restaurant but they do offer breakfast.
The Best Hotels with Family Rooms
- Tucked away in the chic Marais district, the Hôtel Jeanne d'Arc is simply, stylishly and cleverly decorated to make the most of the irregular shaped rooms of this classic Marais corner building. The colour palette is warm and there’s some fun wallpaper choices, and you’re surrounded by great places to eat and drink. Some of their spacious family rooms offer separate bedrooms, so they’re great for older children too. There are 34 rooms but no restaurant; they do offer breakfast in a bright breakfast room. However there are tons of places to eat and drink around here.
Paris’ Best Hotels for Larger Families
- If you have a larger family then the Villa d'Estrees is definitely worth considering. It has just ten spacious bedrooms, but the layout means that they can offer a run of interconnecting rooms that comfortably sleep up to five. And they have several rooms that sleep three. The decor is traditionally French, in a confident, stylish way. There’s no restaurant with but the owners of the hotel do own a bistro across the road, and the Latin Quarter location makes sight-seeing easy .
The Best Family Hotels near the Eiffel Tower
- The Hotel La Bourdonnais is a luxurious feeling hotel with contemporary decor and some great 18th century colonial accents and ornaments collected on global travels. It’s just a few minutes walk from the Eiffel Tower, and in a great spot for strolling around Paris. Some of the rooms even have Eiffel Tower views. There are 53 rooms and suites with a handful of family rooms which sleep up to four. There’s no restaurant but breakfast is available, and there are plenty of local bistros that are family-friendly too.
Some of the Best Value Family Hotels in Paris
- Adele et Jules occupies neighbouring beautiful Haussmann buildings just off the Grands Boulevards, 9th Arrondissement, so the location is difficult to beat! Its 60 rooms and family suites, which sleep up to four, are small but very stylish, and it’s the size that allows for them to be such great value. Everything else here is of a very pleasing standard with subtle, stylish colour schemes. There’s also a cosy honesty bar and lounge and they do a lovely breakfast and a complimentary afternoon tea.
- Warm and comfortable while also being stylish and minimalist, the Hotel Arvor Saint-Georges is a three star property in the 9th Arrondissement close to the Pairs Opera House. There’s a lively looking breakfast room, which looks like it would make for a cheerful morning over an organic breakfast, and a comfortable communal lounge, plus 30 rooms and suites. The best by far for families is the two room suite on the ground floor, which also opens out onto a leafy courtyard.
- Mob Hotel is an avant-garde concept hotel close to the flea market at Saint-Ouen. Each of the rooms is individually designed, though they’re all along similar lines, with bold terracottas, rich fabrics and eclectic, vintage treasures. If you’re here with your family you’ll need to book a suite, and it might just have a tipi for your smalls to play in. The restaurant takes pride in serving all organic farm-to-table fare.
The Best Off-Centre Hotels for Families
- Sometimes it’s easier for families to stay just outside of the centre of town — often you’ll find hotels with a little more space and a better priced family room or family suite. Like the Hotel de Banville, a beautifully restored Art Deco building in the 17th Arrondissement with a collection of 38 rooms and suites offering a choice of family room configurations. Under 12s are free, and the hotel is happy to add beds or cots to some of its more spacious rooms, there’s also a babysitting service. The rooms on the upper floors have beautiful views of all of Paris, and the suites and deluxe rooms have a private terrace or balcony. There’s no restaurant but they do offer breakfast and there’s a lounge bar.
