“A pub-like façade and interior, with boutique rooms upstairs, a cool cocktail bar downstairs and a handy west London location. Friendly service and excellent pub food complete the picture. A good value option with easy access to all London has to offer.”

Hotel Review

Forget the name and, on first glance, the Brook Green Hotel looks nothing more than a traditional – but well turned out – pub on a corner on Shepherd’s Bush Road. Part of Young’s Brewery group, the hotel was recently renovated and is run by a friendly team who have a knack of being attentive yet unobtrusive. A doorway from the pub-cum-restaurant leads up to 17 boutique bedrooms via an elegant stairwell lined with arty black and white photos of London. The city theme continues into the rooms with images and larger panels of funky Londonscape wallpaper. Tastefully done, the decor works well with tourists and Londoners alike, which is just as well as the hotel is perfectly placed for events at the Apollo and Shepherd’s Bush Empire, plus sightseeing, shopping and meetings. The rooms, fun and contemporary in style, come with free Wi-Fi and Sky TV. Interconnecting rooms appeal to families while the two most popular, the superior Smith’s rooms, come with the added bonus of extra-large bathrooms and a free cocktail. From the bedrooms it’s a short wander down to breakfast (included in all room rates) or to a meal in the restaurant which serves up British classics and has a tucked away terrace with plenty of blankets for chillier days. Head down a further level to the excellent basement cocktail bar, Smith’s, which, decorated by the same designer as that of the hotel, continues the contemporary look with a speakeasy feel, quirky decorations and an amazingly-inventive list of drinks.
