Hotel Review
Touted as Goa's first boutique property Casa Colvale is Sheila Dhody's, the owner of the Casa group of hotels, labour of love. Initially intended as her own private holiday home she received so many requests from friends and family to stay that she could hardly refuse to open its doors to the public. Five star service from the start: collected by speedboat you are whisked down the Chapora river to your waterside hideaway. Nestled in the depths of Goa's lush backwaters this homely, architect-designed property is an impressive blend of traditional features and contemporary decor. Rooms feature private terraces and use dark Goan wood and bright, floral fabrics. Each has a separate sitting area plus there are two infinity pools and plenty of shady nooks to read a good book and contemplate life. Cuisine consists of delicious home-cooked dishes whilst cooking lessons are available, as are private yoga classes and spa treatments. There is a private speedboat available and bicycles for getting about.
