“18th century convent turned four star hotel just 600m from one of Begur's best beaches. The twenty five rooms have been converted from the convent's cells and feature original tiled floors and wonderful views over the gardens to the Med. El Refectori restaurant serves modern Catalan cuisine.”

Hotel review

Begur is one of the Costa Brava's hidden treasures and El Convent de Begur is one of the town's gems. A convent in the 1700s belonging to the Order of the Minims, the property has been converted into a comfortable four star hotel. All twenty five bedrooms have been created from the original convent cells. The decor is traditional and classic with wooden furniture and terra cotta tiled floors. Most have great views over the gardens and down to the Mediterranean beyond. The respected El Refectori restaurant serves modern Catalan cuisine and prides itself on using produce that is sourced from the best local fishermen and farmers. El Convent is ideally located for those who are looking for a laid back beach hotel (one of Begur's best beaches is an easy 600m stroll). But if you need a little more stimulation, it's also a great base for exploring the Dali Triangle and the charming fishing villages that are dotted along the coast.
