Hotel Review
More iconic than its neighbourhood, Bel Air was named after the hotel; rather than the other way around. Still an icon today it remains the quieter, more discreet counterpart to the famous Beverly Hills Hotel. Favoured amongst romantics and those seeking solitude; rather than people spotting it has a suite named after Grace Kelly and some of McCarthy's favourite dishes still on the menu. No less luxurious this is a five star oasis in the Bel Air hills. Hidden away in a residential part of town (most of its residents are Hollywood names or celebrities in their field) it is surrounded by tropical gardens. Surrounded by sonorous waterways and ponds, as you cross the bridge to enter, you feel as though you are walking into a world of luxury, protected by a moat. A serene lobby is covered in mirror and glass and feature a working fireplace - though the temperature rarely drops below 30 degrees. But this is Bel Air; who cares.
Suites are entered through wrought iron gates and are very secluded. The base category features a private terrace whilst the studios have their own butler service. Their marble clad bathrooms are the height of luxury. The restaurant is the pride and joy of celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck, who dishes up fabulous four and six course tasting menus, with excellent wine pairing options.
Wellness lovers should check out the award winning La Prarie spa. The couples suite can be booked out for the entire day - and guests can enjoy lunch out on their own private terrace. A truly indulgent day. Or simply relax by the gated pool: very secluded and out the way. The Bel-Air hotel is a longtime favourite with honeymooners and old romantics. Five star luxury at its finest.
