“Unique hotel nestled in the heart of the lively and bohemian North Beach neighbourhood. The rooms are colourful, characterful and cosy, designed to evoke 1950s Beat era boho-chic, with names like Allen Ginsberg as previous guests. The surrounding area is bustling with cafes, shops and restaurants.”

Hotel Boheme: Review

What this historic boutique hotel located in the center of North Beach restaurant and cafe activity lacks in space, it makes up for in European charm. Harnessing the bohemian culture that dominated North Beach back when Beat Poet Allen Ginsberg hung his hat at this very hotel, this tiny hotel with rooms up a flight of stairs (no elevator) is painted in colourful 50's colors and adorned with black and white photographs of Beat Generation greats. Accommodations and bathrooms are tiny, and the smell of fresh cannoli wafting up from Stella Pastry & Café downstairs add to the cozy feel. Sit at the cabaret table in your shabby-chic room while you enjoy complimentary sherry (served in the lobby each evening) to experience the hotel as Ginsberg likely did, or meander next door in either direction for a taste of North Beach’s cafe culture.
