This former palazzo is only a year old. It’s extremely convenient with everything in walking distance. Tucked away down a cobbled side street, between the Duomo (cathedral) and the Palazzo Vecchio, it is the ideal place to indulge after an afternoon’s shopping in the neighbourhood. This 5-star boutique hotel is both sumptuous and chic. Around the foyer is black and white chequered marbled flooring, and beyond shine mirrored ceilings while black and white photographs line the walls. The hotel’s signature colour scheme of emerald and olive greens permeate throughout the thick carpets and velvet curtains.
Guests sit outside by the entrance or enjoy an impressive massage at the subterranean Allure Spa. You can even have a romantic dinner on the roof arranged while breakfast is in an open courtyard with palm leaves. The hotel’s Luca’s Restaurant is where chef Tommaso dreams up his creations with a confident menu strong on both pigeon and Jerusalem artichokes. Some of the luxurious rooms and suites come with their own patio. They are extremely opulent in their velvet-padded décor. The beds are super-comfortable with their curved, velour headboards. Rooms come with a marble-topped writing desk, thick drapes and wonderful wallpaper featuring palm fronds. The marble bathrooms come with La Bottega products. It’s all truly pampering in the best of Italian style.
