A fine hotel is a home from home, and Tresanton is a very fine hotel indeed. Its décor combines great style with great warmth – modern but not harsh, quality but not bling. The public rooms breathe a quiet hospitality, with a log fire in the sitting room, a dedicated childrens’ play room away from grown-ups, a screening room, a charming sun terrace and a private yacht and motorboats for beach picnics. The dining room is well into foodie territory – lots of seafood as you’d expect, but also interesting and creative meat and vegetarian choices, nudging Michelin levels of quality and presentation, and with happy Tresanton service to boot. The wine list is well-picked and well-priced – neither cheap nor greedy. The coolly sophisticated bedrooms with sea views towards St Anthony's lighthouse reflect Tresanton’s warmth; excellent linens, large, quality, beds, local Cornish artworks and solid hospitable furnishings. The Beach Club is the latest addition to Tresanton, immediately across the road and with direct access to Tavern Beach, it's made up of three terraces with shaded day beds and blue and white parasols. Perfect for both a sexy getaway or a family holiday. Leaving will hurt.
