This is definitely one for the style-conscious visitor seeking a trendy cocoon to use as a base for exploring the city (though it would work for business travellers too, as it is close to Taksim and the central business district). This trendy all-suite hotel opened in 2008 in an up-and-coming inner-city neighbourhood where new cafés, galleries and restaurants seem to pop up every month. The bedrooms and public areas are sleekly modern, although you’ll have to eat out, as the restaurant only serves breakfast. Each room has a mini kitchen and microwave for those who prefer to breakfast in privacy. A rooftop sunbathing terrace compensates for the lack of a pool.

"A front-runner in the Istanbul designer hotel scene that rates comfort, intimacy and substance as highly as style."
