Where better to base oneself for visiting the delights of the Golden Triangle of Avignon, Arles and Aix en Provence, plus a little further afield Nimes, Aigues-Mortes and the Camargue than Le Mas des Carassins. It is a charming provencal farmhouse in the peaceful outskirts of Saint Remy, surrounded by a glorious garden filled with ancient olive trees, lavender, rosemary and thyme bushes and interesting sculpture from near and far plus two good sized swimming pools, one for relaxing and the other quieter and more suitable for the energetic lap swimmer. In the warmer months, sit out and enjoy a refreshing glass of rosé in the garden. In fact, don’t move and have dinner here too, listening to the gentle vibrating of the cicadas wings. The Restaurant d'Yvan offers an à la carte or a prix fixe discovery menu of the day, using the freshest local ingredients. In the cooler months dinner is in the restaurant surrounded by paintings from local artists. Recently renovated bedrooms are comfortable but not luxurious, which really sums up the hotel and is reflected in the price; great value and great location.
