“Traditional country pub in a pretty coastal village. Cosy and stylish rooms - muted tones with real wood accents and antique touches. Fine ales and classic dishes, with the beach only a short walk away. A great place to rest your head whilst discovering East Devon’s Jurassic coastline.”

Hotel review

Essentially this is a pub with rooms, but the English hospitality trade has made such progress recently that, a decade ago, the rooms would only have been found in a posh boutique hotel. There are six bedrooms in the inn and 12 cottage rooms attached. The bedrooms vary in style a lot but they are all well done with good bedside lighting and ensuite bathrooms. Because they differ in size and facilities there is a range of prices; the smallest and simplest are good value. Food is taken seriously here. A bar serving at least half a dozen real ales, a log fire on which great joints are roast three times a week and a very pretty village add up to a most attractive traditional package.
