Why do people love staying in your hotel? People love coming to our hotel because it’s located in the middle of the Sicilian countryside with spectacular valley views; it’s a place for people to truly relax and immerse themselves in a slower pace of life, while enjoying great food from our vegetable garden and local wines.
What is there to do in the area or on site? On site we have a pool, a wine bar and a panoramic terrace. Guests can book a cooking class or take a walking tour of the property including the vegetable, fruit trees and herb garden. We recommend a number of Day Tours for our guests to explore the ancient mountain towns and try the local delicacies. There are also a few wineries in the area.
What kind of breakfast do you offer? We offer an abundant buffet breakfast with: - homemade cakes and conserves - yogurt - fresh fruit - a local honey selection - home made biscuits - croissants as well as a savoury selection of: - a selection of cured meat - eggs & bacon - local cheeses and fresh ricotta - three different kind of home-made bread Coffees, cappuccinos and lattes are included and made-to-order with fresh milk.
Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? We have a restaurant on-site, famous for our 5-course menu, which changes daily based on what is available in our vegetable garden. We also offer a la carte options, for both lunch and dinner.
Which are your most popular room types, and why? We don’t have most popular room type, all of them receive the same good feedback.
What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms? Specifically for children we do not offer any particular services, but we do have a pool (parental supervision required) and animals around the property (chickens, ducks, cows – august only). It’s not possible to fit extra beds in our rooms except for the double superior that are already equipped with a sofa bed.
What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers? Masseria Susafa is an experience like no other which will transport you to a time where people lived more simply and time moved more slowly. The hotel is rustic yet elegant and impeccably furnished, centered around our guests’ ultimate comfort. Masseria Susafa is a stone farmhouse from the 18th century, which has been turned into an elegant Country House, finely furnished and equipped with all the comforts of an exquisite hotel. Staying at the Masseria means living an experience where nature, culture, tradition, relaxation and genuine food will accompany you throughout your stay.
"This simple but chic rural hotel is just the ticket for anyone wanting to recharge, indulge in some serious reading, go for long walks in an age-old landscape of rolling sheep-grazed hills, learn how to make the local ‘crescente’ bread, or work that tan by the lovely, panoramic pool."
