Located plum in the middle of town with a superb site right on Lake Pushkar, the Pushkar Palace is the one to book if you’re looking for a heritage property in the prime spot to enjoy sunset views.
There are forty odd rooms and a couple of suites, all decorated slightly differently but all featuring period-style decor, old photographs on the walls and dark wood furniture. The bathrooms are basic but there’s plenty of hot water and everything works!
What most people book this place for is its history and location — the large terrace overlooking the holy lake is the perfect perch for watching the sun go down (but be warned, there’s no alcohol allowed in Pushkar, so it’ll have to be something soft!), and lovely for al fresco dining (again, be warned, because of its holy status, nowhere in Pushkar serves meat). The menu is simple, but the food delicious and incredibly good value.
The Pushkar Palace Hotel is not for anyone craving five star luxury, but for a simple, clean and well located heritage property it ticks every box.
