“Riverside pub/restaurant in a great position in the Ribble Valley, with a small number of bright, stylish rooms. Popular with locals and walkers. Great food and views.”

Hotel review

Good food and home comforts go hand in hand at The Spread Eagle, a traditional stone coaching inn situated on a bend on the River Ribble. Comfy and cosy, the communal rooms have stone-paved floors, chunky wooden tables and, in winter, roaring fires. The bedrooms, of which there are seven, all have big beds to sink into and l’Occitane products in the bathroom, each with a different colour scheme, but all equally elegantly furnished. Afternoon tea should not be missed, while the restaurant’s menu lists everything from smaller dishes and sandwiches to substantial mains and puddings, with a good selection of wines and other drinks. A menu for children is also available.
