The Greyhound Inn offers a fabulously warm welcome and looks after its guests with great care and attention. The rooms are thoughtfully appointed, the food is freshly prepared, imaginative and delicious and there’s a good selection of beers and wines by the glass.
What is there to do in the area?
Lots of country walks from the doorstep. Cycling routes on the untouched North Wessex Downs. Visit a range of NT properties such as White Horse Hill. Visit Oxford for shopping, theatre and history. Go to the Newbury races.
What kind of breakfast do you offer?
Besides a buffet of juices, pastries and cereals there are a range of freshly cooked hot dishes such as the Full English or Vegetarian Full English, Eggs Florentine, Smoked Haddock and Poached Arlington White eggs and Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs.

Lunch and Dinner are served daily (except Monday lunch). Packed lunches also offered for walkers or cyclists to take en route. Food lovers can explore a range of farm shops and delis for a light lunch and return to the Greyhound for dinner prepared by award-winning chef Phil Currie and his team.

For guests indulging in a special getaway, our Suites are very popular with their fur throw-covers sofas and luxurious bathrooms. For the budget traveller or individual our cosy Small double is a perfect retreat. We also have a 3 rooms which can be configured as a twin - ideal for friends travelling together.
What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ?
3 rooms have extra beds for children (one for up to 3 children). There is a children’s menu and games in the bar for entertainment as well as a DVD player in the suites for snuggling down while parents eat downstairs.
