Nestled in Desert Hot Springs - the relaxed counterpart to Palm Springs, less than half an hour to the north - this wellness resort has reopened its doors after a wide-ranging renovation that saw more than thirty new rooms added to the hotel, in addition to a farm-to-table restaurant and sleek yoga dome. Something of a veteran in the spa business (the hotel was the first hot springs resort in the USA), the facelift has made Two Bunch Palms a competitor contender with the best hotels in the region.
Rooms are split into four categories, ranging in size and proximity to the wellness facilities. Interiors have had a contemporary design makeover, and now feature beautiful, whitewashed stone walls, comfy linens and soaking tubs in the bathrooms. The former Casablanca Suites - renowned in the hotel's spa history - have been reimagined as the Grove Villa Suites, and while the vintage villa exteriors are intact, inside, a chic and modern renewal brings them into the twenty-first century.
However, it is the hotel's spa facilities that really make it stand out from the crowd. Home to an impressive 22 treatment rooms and a plethora of tubs fed by natural hot springs, guests can choose where and how to rest and unwind in this wellness maze. The addition of seasonal, organic restaurant Essence elevates the experience for guests, particularly those attending a retreat or course. Between the beautiful suites, healthy cuisine and excellent wellness facilities, this hotel ticks all the boxes for a spa getaway.
