Hotel Review

Set in the Hampshire countryside and surrounded by 66 acres of gorgeous gardens, Tylney Hall Hotel is a grand country house that caters especially well to couples and families. Soak up the fresh countryside air and beautiful grounds, including the spectacular giant redwoods that line what's said to be the longest uninterrupted vista in the region (book yourself a state suite to have a balcony overlooking this view - a special spot for a coffee or glass of wine). History buffs might even appreciate a guided garden tour to discover the fascinating history of the grounds, from its hidden air raid shelter to a section that’s based on the gardens of Versailles. Visit in the summer and you'll probably want to spend time relaxing by the heated outdoor pool that's tucked away in a walled courtyard. Or if it rains, there's a good-size indoor pool too, plus a whirlpool and small sauna. There are five spa treatment rooms offering a range of therapies, and other activities on offer include golf at the adjoining 18-hole course, tennis and croquet.

The hotel's decor is traditional and elegant, with wow-factor features including the ornate blue and gold ceiling in the Library room, which is a cosy setting for drinks, especially by the log fire in winter; perhaps before enjoying dinner at its Oak Room restaurant which serves delicious British cuisine 'with a twist'. Rooms are spacious and clean, with highlight features including marbled bathrooms with rainforest showers and free-standing baths that offers countryside views.

This hotel's elegant lounges, sumptuous bedrooms, wonderful landscaped grounds and beautifully designed Gertrude Jekyll water gardens are as impressive as the grand grade-II-listed country house itself. Plus there are heated pools and activities to keep all the family amused...
