Nice has been a popular seaside holiday spot since the 18th century, and did a roaring trade as a Belle Époque beauty, offering all sorts of charming accommodation, from luxurious grande dame hotel suites, through to rooms in guesthouses. A lot of this accommodation has survived into the current market — with some modern updating, of course — and today, some of the best accommodation in Nice has been converted from historic townhouses, guesthouses, and Art Nouveau apartment blocks. Much of these have ended up as B&Bs, and offer a really bespoke and personalised service to guests. You don't have to compromise on style, space, sea views, or service, and there are plenty of advantages to staying in a B&B, including fantastic local recommendations. Some of Nice’s B&Bs have courtyards with pools; some are right beside the beach; there are some excellent family-friendly options; and a collection of elegantly decorated, boutique-style B&Bs.
