About Davos

Tucked away in the spectacular Swiss Alps, Davos, in the Canton of Graubünden, is a charming mountain town renowned for its serene beauty and unbeatable skiing opportunities. Many have heard of Davos because it hosts an annual World Economic Forum meeting, and draws big-wigs from around the globe. However as long as you visit during other winter months, you'll find a typical Swiss alpine village with jaw-dropping views and plenty of good ski runs, sledging and other snow-filled activities on offer. Accommodation options are equally varied — from simple, self-catering properties to lavish mountain resorts — and the best places to stay in Davos put you right in the heart of the action.

Davosersee, a beautiful small, clear lake on the edge of town is a fabulous spot for outdoor activities in the summer months such as swimming, fishing, and hiking. In Davos itself, discover the Kirchner Museum for an interesting insight into the life and work of artist Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, or in summer take the chair lift for breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain passes. In summer it's also well worth visiting the beautiful Flüela waterfalls, or soaking up the atmosphere at Ducan-Wasserfall, an enchanting mountain destination.

If you’re looking for something a little more peaceful, explore Davos’ many charming village café-bars or simply take the time to relax on a sunny terrace or lounge in serene parkland. Whether you’re looking for an adrenaline-pumping adventure or a relaxing getaway, the best places to stay in Davos offer something to suit all tastes.
