“Simple, unpretentious and informal rural hotel outside the town of Sant Luis. It’s owned by an English woman who moved to Menorca 20 years ago. Lovely pool area and mature garden inspired by the Italian riviera. Good for groups and couples. Adults only.”

Hotel review

The backstory to this hotel spins a good yarn. Seeking a more relaxed, laid-back lifestyle, the British owner left a hectic life and successful career in London as a fashion designer in 1998 (producing among other things, theatrical stage outfits for Tina Turner’s Private Dancer tour), to settle in Menorca. Having spent childhood holidays here it seemed like the perfect peaceful place. The original C18th farmhouse had been used to produce local cheese. Three years of renovations transformed it into a hotel set within abundant tropical gardens with palms that had to be flown in by helicopter. The pool area has an appealing, almost timeless feel with stone statues, old school sun-loungers, alcove seating and potted succulents. Expect clean, simple, no frills rooms (think white washed walls, terracotta floors, beamed ceilings and antique furniture). Extensive buffet-style breakfasts are served in the dining room or terrace. Dinner is available too.
