“A floating boutique resort on the tranquil waters of the Tatai River. Large tented rooms are decorated in soothing tones & benefit from private terraces with mountain views. With generous family villas on the sand & romantic suites out on the river, this is a tranquil nature lover's dream.”

Hotel review

As you are whisked off by private boat along the Tatai River to your destination, it becomes clear that this is no ordinary hotel. Leave behind the roads and your neighbours in favour of tropical rainforest and chattering birds. A floating glamping resort, Canvas & Orchids Retreat provides guests with a stay in complete tranquility. Rooms are simple - think African safari tent with some Asian twists such as wooden Hinoki tubs. They feature mod-cons in the form of power showers, televisions and DVD players plus luxuries like your own private wooden terraces, leading straight to the Tatai River: hop in! Do note that there is no internet, however in our opinion this adds to the serenity and is a modern day luxury. Staff are friendly, attentive and ready to help. Providing a selection of Western and Khmer dishes some feel that the menu is somewhat limited, if not overpriced. However all provisions have to be boated in, so this should be factored into the cost. The luxury is in the experience and this is one of complete isolation. A great getaway for couples or families.
