Nestled away on the picturesque isle of Favignona - just off the coast of Sicily - lies the Dimora dell'Olivastro. It is a unique property: almost entirely self-sufficient, it has its own organic 32 hectare farm, complete with olive groves and vineyards facing the twinkling turquoise sea. It offers 6 uniquely decorated rooms, of which the decor is inspired by the sea and surrounding Sicilian landscape. The private terraces of each room are of particular note: while all come with a small patio, some rooms come with an outside bed, on which you and your beloved can stare at the star-studded night sky, or a private plunge pool, in which you can soak after a long day in the roaring hot Adriatic sun. Getting around the island couldn't be easier because the hotel can hire you out boats, cars, scooters or bikes, as well as transfer you to and from the airport. The hotel is eco-friendly, not only recycling its waste, but all hot water comes from solar panels, the lightbulbs and bath products are all eco-friendly, and the farm itself is entirely organic. This hotel is a rare haven amidst a sea of tranquility, perfect for unwinding or escaping the unceasingly manic bright lights of urban life. This is perhaps why the owners proudly state on their website that each room is TV-free.
