“This unique hotel occupies a former 19th-century Sicilian estate in Realmonte. The 'Massaro' or main house has been restored and retains many original features. Rooms are dressed in a simple but elegant palette of earthy tones with wood accents. Relax by the pretty outdoor pool; a rustic retreat.”

Hotel Review

The idyllic Sicilian countryside outside of Realmonte is renowned for its beautiful vineyards, verdant fields and proximity to the coast. Masseria Agnello is an elegant boutique hotel located on a renovated country estate in the region; the original buildings have undergone a loving restoration to retain many original features and the rural charm of the site, while a pool and garden have been added for guests to enjoy. Rooms in the hotel are based in the original servant's quarters and stables but have had modern amenities added including ensuite bathrooms and air conditioning. High-quality linens and carefully selected design pieces elevate the otherwise simple and rustic rooms; the best rooms have views stretching right to the coast and open onto a pretty patio with furniture. The hotel has a restaurant serving traditional Italian cuisine; guests inspired by the menu can book onto cooking classes with the chef during their stay. Despite the remote location, there are lots of activities on offer at this hotel; the proximity to Agrigento means that guests can easily organise a day trip to the ancient Greek temples, or drive to the renowned Scala dei Turchi on the coast. Whether you want to take up local exploring or hideout on the estate, there's plenty on offer at this charming rural getaway.
