Port is the kind of hotel you wish to find in every British seaside town or city. It’s beautifully designed, warm and inviting, but also great value for money. Set in an old characterful Victorian building in a great spot facing a quiet, pebbly beach. Decorated in pastel tones and natural materials right from the downstairs restaurant, bar and lounge with its cork-tiled flooring and chalky pink walls. The bar serves a well curated collection of local gins, Sussex wines and craft ale while the restaurant rustles up thoughtful menus packed with local artisanal ingredients. Bedrooms have a cool retro vibe, painted in taupe, light green or dusky light pink with stripy soft furnishings and additions like driedflowers, wood bedheads and designer retro kettles. The best rooms are the six at the front for great sea, sunset and sunrise views. A stylish stay welcoming in a new era for Eastbourne's hotel scene.
