Hotel Review
If there was ever a hotel made for a touring rock band, this would be it. Housed in a building dating from 1904, the large high-ceilinged nightclub-like charcoal and black lobby, with its huge bar and wild artworks on display - by night party central and by day lined with hipsters buried in their laptops - sets a scene particularly geared to a youthful state of mind. It is located close to a host of attractions at up-and-coming Flatiron district in lively midtown, yet is away from the usual tourism areas and therefore feeling more like the New York a local would know. The guest rooms are the antithesis of standard chain accommodation, populated with retro and vintage furniture that bring unique grungey character. It also fits in two good restaurants, a bar, coffee shop, gift shop, hairdressers, sandwich shop and fitness centre.

Ace Hotel, New York: review
The 280 rooms range from “suites” to “smalls” to “bunks” and are as eclectic as the clientele. Expect en suite bathrooms in the suites ad retro tiles; while the smallest rooms are literally two bunks in a room with a sink and plain white décor.
