Nestled in the heart of Glyfada along the Athens Riviera, don’t let what might be construed as an ugly building put you off. The Ace Hotel & Swim Club Athens has transformed the former Fenix Hotel into a stylish sanctuary that pays homage to the golden era of Greek coastal leisure. Since its opening in September 2024, this four-story former hotel houses 115 rooms ranging from Standard Queen to Deluxe King, and 5 suites, each meticulously designed to offer a unique escape from the vibrant energy of the city centre.
With Ace’s rooms exuding a soothing palette of earthy tones - linen bedspreads and robes crafted exclusively for the hotel, all this combines to enhance a sense of comfort and exclusivity. Plush down mattress toppers will ensure a restful slumber, while the thoughtful soundproofing ensures a peaceful retreat, even with the hotel's main road location. Tip: To ensure an even quieter aesthetic, although lacking in view choose a room over the entrance of the hotel with mountain view. It’s quieter.
The Swim Club serves as the hotel's vibrant social hub and is a spacious pool area with cushioned sun loungers and chic cabanas, reminiscent of 1970s coastal resorts. The rooftop pool and spa, set to open later in 2025, promises to further elevate the leisure experience.
Ace’s icing on the cake? Culinary delights await at Sebastian, the hotel's contemporary Greek-French bistro restaurant where Executive Chef Elvi Dimitris Zyba crafts a menu that blends simplicity with innovation. Think signature dishes such as the fava dip and baby potato Salad Sebastian, plus a simple sea bass with greens and creamed potato. The lobby and poolside bars offer an array of uniquely crafted cocktails, such as the Fly Me To Tulum, a refreshing take on the classic jalapeño margarita.
The lobby itself is an inviting and comfortable space where you can either lounge with a drink or coffee with friends, or tuck yourself away for some coworking. Art enthusiasts will appreciate the hotel's curated collection that features works by Athenian creatives, including handwoven tapestries by the Callas brothers and prints by Greek folk artist Alekos Fassianos, all helping to cement a deep connection to the local culture.
Strategically located, the hotel offers easy access to both the city center and the beach. Guests can explore Glyfada's vibrant dining scene, indulge in boutique shopping, or venture into Athens' historic sites, all within a short 45 mins drive max.
