“Following a very recent renovation, original features of this magnificent building have now been combined with modern luxuries. Bedrooms are elegantly decorated and spacious. A magnificent bar with sea views and an exquisite restaurant menu. Log fires and afternoon teas. Seaside elegance.”

Hotel review

“Modern yet antique” is how the owners describe Albion House and these three words neatly sum up this Georgian seaside hotel, which dates back to 1791. The hotel retains many of its original characteristics, which now feature alongside tasteful contemporary touches. Princess Victoria visited the hotel in 1835, prior to becoming Queen, and Little Victoria’s Room is a nod to this. There are 14 bedrooms – many of which have sea views – and all have spacious marble bathrooms with rain showers and Noble Isle bath products. Original parquet floors, vintage mirrors, velvet sofas all feature across the hotel, including the roomy and comfortable lounge. The Dining Rooms have a varied and seasonal menu with locally-sourced produce a key feature. Albion House has an enviable clifftop position with views over Ramsgate’s sandy beach and working harbour; the perfect British seaside escape.

Albion House hotel, Ramsgate, Kent: review

All the rooms have charm, including a smallish one in which Princess Victoria slept, but the front facing ones are fabulous, with marvelous views.
