“One of Bali's longest standing luxury resorts, on the now quieter East coast. Enjoy the spectacular views of the Lombok Strait from your private terrace, or from the show-stopping three tiered infinity pool. The on site restaurant serves delicous fusion dishes and the cocktails are excellent. Bliss.”

Hotel review

Peace is the main feeling here. The stunning self contained villas take their design cues from the nearby Karangasem palaces, and they certainly do feel fit for royalty. The views are just incredible, despite the odd oil tanker chugging across the straits. We particularly loved the feeling of being really submerged in the jungle canape as it cascades towards the cliffs below. It is impossible not feel relaxed here, the sound of water lapping, bird song and crickets is almost hypnotic.

"The location is ideal for those who simply want to be cocooned by closed doors."

"With a perfect location on eastern Bali's Lombok Strait, and a consequent bevy of water activities (paddle boarding, scuba diving, snorkeling) on offer, this is where you go to get back to basics—albeit, in a very un-basic way."

"From the dramatic setting on the side of a cliff to the spectacular views of the Lombok Strait, the elegant villas and spectacular, three-tiered infinity pool, Amankila takes your breath away."

"Amankila's most striking features are the three azure infinity pools that step down to the seashore, but it's the serenity and comfort of the beach-house villas that'll linger in mind longest."
