The Ambassade is a strikingly elegant restoration of eleven 17th-century merchants’ houses overlooking the Herengracht canal, with particularly fine views of the canal through the large windows of the graceful salon and high-ceilinged breakfast room. The hotel boasts extremely elegant and comfortable bedrooms, most furnished with antiques. It's a hostelry that has always been popular with writers, many of whose works are showcased in the hotel’s library. As for service, while they do not have as many staff as some other hotels, you will be well cared for here and come away with the sense that you have stayed somewhere special.
