Notwithstanding the highly camp décor, this 4-star boutique hotel is a great place to stay in Kotor. Located in the UNESCO-protected 13th-century Buca Palace in the heart of Kotor's fascinating old town, Hotel Astoria offers clean, comfortable and distinctively individual rooms. (You can learn the Greek alphabet in bed as it is letter-cut onto the ceilings!). Very helpful and friendly young staff, who speak excellent English. Being right on the town’s main square means there is no shortage of entertaining people watching to be done from the hotel’s charming outdoor bistro which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Watch the yachties and cruise liner passengers coming ashore for a dash of culture. The menu is simple and good with local wines to match. For more of a hip and happening vibe you have a trendy cocktail bar and restaurant inside the hotel featuring a startling life size nude mural of Adam and Eve and the serpent! Take a walk down to the Marina and look at the smart yachts or buy a bag of juicy cherries from the market and climb the steep hill behind the town for a panoramic view of the dramatic coastline.

Why do people love staying in your hotel? People like staying in our hotel because of its small size and therefore more personalized and attentive service, as well as because of its position in the Old Town and an interesting décor. What is there to do in the area? The Kotor Bay area is great for exploring historical sites, enjoying boat rides, kayaking/canoeing, hiking, cycling, long peaceful walks along the coast, various cultural and music events and night life (during the summer season)… What kind of breakfast do you offer? We offer breakfast a la carte (eggs, sandwiches, fruit and vegetables, muesli, cheese pie, coffee, tea, freshly squeezed juices…) and we can also provide gluten-free options or other specific type of dietary requests. Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? We also offer lunch and dinner/supper comprising various types of international dishes. Which are your most popular room types, and why? Our most popular rooms are Junior suites as they have a bay view and are not facing the square/street, which makes them quieter and more enjoyable, especially because of the view. What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ? We, unfortunately, do not have any facilities for children specifically but they are, of course, welcome and are exempt of paying if they are under the age of 12.
