Hotel review

There’s only one hotel at Athens International Airport (the bland and expensive Sofitel); the Avra is a more affordable, full-service alternative and a great place to start or finish your holiday. It’s within easy reach of the terminal, and right next to Rafina ferry harbour (where there are some great seafood restaurants). Try for a sea-view room (they all have balconies). There’s a pool for a last-minute swim, and off-street parking for those with a rented car.
