Hotel Review
The grandiose villas at Banyan Tree are the type of residences that you check into and deliberately don’t leave. The resort, which spreads across 30-plus acres of tropical hillside, is well prepared for reclusive guests: each imposingly grand villa boasts its own infinity pool, private terrace, and outdoor lounging areas (it’s worth investing in one that offers mesmerizing views across the Gulf of Thailand, too). Hail a golf buggy to venture out of your personal slice of paradise, whizzing down vertiginous pathways to the hotel’s private bay. Beach-side sun loungers and hammocks strung from coconut palms offer views across the cerulean waters; snorkeling kit, stand-up paddleboards and catamarans encourage you to venture in. Be sure to check out the hydrotherapy spa, yoga centre and signature Thai restaurant Saffron.
