In a des res part of Edinburgh’s West End, the B+B team have added another grand residence to their collection; the former home of a famous local philanthropist. The public areas retain their original Victorian character of wood panelling and ceiling art; walls adorned by portraits of previous residents. Spacious bedrooms have been stylishly modernised to create a new chic boutique feel. True Scots hospitality includes a resident’s bar and library with roaring fire. With views of the statuesque castle in the hinterland, this B+B, which is more like a private club or boutique hotel, is only a walk to restaurants, theatres, shops, tourist spots and the International Conference Centre.
