There’s a relaxed, low-key, calming atmosphere at Bernardus Lodge & Spa. Highlights include the attentive staff, spacious rooms and villas with handcrafted copper hammered tubs, gas fireplaces and the softest king-size beds. There's also an outdoor pool, which is heated all year round and the delicious locally-sourced cuisine served up in its Lucia Restaurant and Bar, includes fresh herbs and produce grown in the resort’s organic gardens, which is open for guests to wander. And for an extra special foodie treat, the kitchen even boasts an exclusive chef’s table, where A-list celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio have dined - with autographs to prove it! Younger guests can plant seeds in the rose garden - thoughtfully presented to little ones with a name tag on check-in - or play croquet on the lawn; while older ones can enjoy a spa treatment, the adults-only outdoor hot tub or one of the 20,000 bottles of wine stored on-site (the Bernardus Sauvignon Blanc is one of its most popular wines).
