To reach C’as Xorc you have to negotiate a meandering road then scale a series of steep hairpin bends. Perched precariously on a mountainside looking across the valley to Puerto de Soller and the sea beyond, the location of this former olive mill is glorious, the views are staggering. It’s an idyllic, magical retreat that attracts a hip cosmopolitan crowd. Rooms are comfortable and characterful while the beautiful grounds lead guests from the terrace, past citrus and 100-year old olive trees to a stunning and impressively located infinity pool. The food is superb and beautifully presented on white china or slabs of slate. Breakfast is served at a 25-foot table adjacent to a bustling country-style kitchen. With a team of friendly professional longterm staff, this German-owned hotel runs as a smooth operation, and has to be one of Mallorca’s best kept secrets.
