Casa Litara is the perfect pick for anyone who wants to explore the delights of Puglia, and wants to stay in a charming small property, but who doesn't want to spend too much (not an easy task in this part of the world!). This pretty little period property has been meticulously restored by owner Giorgia, and now offers a haven with four bedrooms whose interiors are in cool creamy shades with plenty of original features taking centre stage - an exposed wall here, a quirky archway there. The rooms range from a small cosy double to spacious suite with private terrace (perfect for families with its sofa bed offering additional beds for little ones), and all benefit from the use of a small courtyard garden with lovely outdoor pool - perfect for chilling beside after a day exploring the area. Location wise, Casa Litara is well placed in the Southern area of Puglia, on the outskirts of a village which is almost half way between Gallipoli and Otranto. Each of these towns is easily reachable within half an hour and the village of Cutrofiano itself is famed as the ceramics centre of the Salento, so be prepared to purchase some lovely Majolica! Casa Litara really is a hidden gem and we'd highly recommend it for anyone planning a low-key exploration of the Salento region.
