Set in a beautiful garden and park full of mimosa and rhododendron, the Château makes a wonderfully relaxing base just minutes from both the beaches of Biarritz and St Jean-de-Luz and the Basque villages in the foothills of the Pyrrenees. You can stay in either the turn of the century Château itself or in its hunting lodge. Bedrooms in the latter are contemporary; those in the former more romantic, with period features, which we prefer. The American Poet Alan Seeger, nephew of the original owners of the house, recuperated from war wounds here and wrote to his mother: “this is a magnificent place; there is nowhere that parallels its beauty in all of Biarritz
