The approach, via black glass lift from the road below, is dramatic, and so is the lobby, with sunken seating around a glass floor that reveals a swimming pool underneath. Renowned local designer Heinz Julen, brother of the charming owner, Leni, has used wood, glass, stone and steel, as well as his trademark chandeliers and hide-covered chairs, to impressive effect in this stunning hotel (breakfast and snacks only) with hot tub on the terrace and hammam in the spa and contemporary glass and steel stoves to keep things cosy. Rooms include amazing suites and penthouse.
