Following its purchase by IHI (which owns and manages all Corinthia Hotels worldwide), the Corinthia St Petersburg has undergone huge investment and total renovation - the two adjoining buildings were also acquired and completely reconstructed with ornate facades reflecting the original 19th century splendour and public areas with a tasteful Art Deco feel. The bedrooms too have been carefully designed - dark wooden furniture, leather headboards and rich fabrics including silks, velvets and brocades. The style is definitely modern - yet undeniably classic. Views are either over Nevsky Prospect or the quiet interior courtyard. Book an executive room and you'll get use of the Executive Lounge - a quiet haven where you can indulge yourself with free drinks and snacks, plus use the business facilities all day long. Book the Royal Suite and you'll find yourself in accommodation that's bigger than most London flats! The Imperial Restaurant has also undergone a face lift and offers a good choice of Mediterranean cuisine, which is very well executed. Select a table overlooking Nevsky and you can people watch to your heart's content! After a day exploring the delights of St Petersburg (either on foot from the hotel, or jump on the metro 2 minutes away) chill out in the sauna or book a relaxing massage.
