“Boutique lodge and spa in spectacular cliff top location overlooking Owhanake Bay. Modern, luxurious rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows, private courtyards and uninterrupted bay views. Close to wineries, olive oil tastings, scenic walks and unspoilt beaches. Ideal for a romantic getaway.”

Hotel review

Delamore Lodge is an elegant and exclusive boutique hotel on Waiheke Island offering a unique island stay. Perched high on a cliff top overlooking Owhanake Bay out to the islands of the tropical Hauraki Gulf, there are a range of luxury suites to chose from, each one open, airy and oozing understated elegance. Walls have been hand plastered, and rooms are sea facing with floor to ceiling windows, private courtyards, rain showers and uninterrupted views. The lodge has a five hectare playground for guests that includes a stunning infinity pool, a tropical rock pool and waterfall and zen-like outdoor seating areas including a deck with an Italian-style fire. There are citrus and olive groves growing amongst the indigenous flora, and the place is designed for total relaxation (spa treatments, a sauna and massages are available). Thoughtful touches include freshly baked biscuits in rooms and pre-dinner canapés that make for an informal chance to mingle with other guests. Beauty and privacy in a stunning location.

What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers? Inspired by the Mediterranean and indigenous New Zealand artworks, this boutique resort was brilliantly designed to form the shape of a traditional Maori fish hook (Matau). Delamore Lodge is located on a cliff edge, it is literally moulded into the hillside at Owhanake Bay, with breathtaking views of the Hauraki Gulf, New Zealand. The Lodge offers a dedicated event and meeting pavilion ‘Wharenui’ (Maori term for an important meeting-house), spacious guest lounge, central courtyard with a sweeping stairway linking to the tropical rock pool and waterfall, a deep, cave-like Jacuzzi, sauna, and a wine cellar with award winning wines. The courtyard, cascades into the striking, Italian-style fireplace and outdoor dining area which leads to the heated infinity swimming pool. Each of the four guest suites and the two bedroom apartment, is a cocoon of luxurious simplicity, fully facing the sun, with breathtaking views of the Hauraki Gulf all from your own private courtyards; or while you soak in your bath tub.
