Hotel Review

Eagles Nest is an exclusive estate, offering five super-luxe villas nestled amongst 75 acres of private headland in the Bay of Islands. Each villa has its own character and unique features, combining opulent luxury with eclectic contemporary style. Rooms are elegant and simple, with local art hanging on white walls next to open fireplaces, and are kitted out with the latest mod-cons. Four out of the five have heated outdoor infinity-edge swimming pools (not "First Light", but it does have a glorious three-sided balcony), and all have Jacuzzis, cinema rooms and a fully equipped kitchen. Villas have been designed to bring the outside in, with floor to ceiling windows (and features like the two-storey class ceiling living area in "Sacred Space") optimising the breathtaking location and panoramic views. The "Rahimoana" Villa is perfect for larger groups, with four ensuite bedrooms, a sauna, gym and direct access to its own private beach. Private chefs will cook you up a storm if you like, and in-room spa treatments are the perfect way to unwind after a day exploring the estate’s many private beaches. This is also a twitcher’s paradise, with the estate home to rare native birds including the North Island Brown Kiwi, the North Island Weka and the Korora. Exclusive and serene, an unbeatable location.
