A perfect blend of fashion and function, this Victorian residence makes central London feel like home as you step off leafy Norfolk Square to find original cornicing, burnt orange walls, and a grand white fireplace. So close to the Paddington station that no taxi is necessary, the hotel feels like a secret only a handful of seasoned globetrotters are in on. Quietly imaginative decor would appeal to their exoticism, all luxury fabrics and dark woods (something rare: even the little gymnasium’s machines are decked out in mahogany). A warm welcome, plus homely touches like newspapers stacked on tabletops, create a feeling of staying with elegant friends. Friends who prefer to go out for dinner, no formal restaurant here. Excellent cocktails in the cosy Pondicherry bar, and waking up to a delicious Gallic buffet breakfast, more than make up for this. Single travellers looking to crash out in chic surroundings will love the novel, boat-like ‘Cabin’ rooms that cleverly make use of the hotel’s smaller spaces. If you’re planning a longer stay, or a whimsical trip for two, plump for the Grand Norfolk Suite, with its charming French windows and grand high ceiling.

What is there to do in the area? A run in HydePark, a walk along the canal in Little Venice (a very pleasant walk to Camden Town), Madame Tussauds Museum, Oxford Street, Notting Hill
What kind of breakfast do you offer? Continental Buffet Breakfast
Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? We don’t have any restaurant at the property. Other recommendations The Victoria Pub : 19th century British pub, The Summerhouse : Seafood restaurant in Little Venice, Nobu London : Japanese culinary and Peruvian flavors, Jacuzzi : a delightful surprise behind the inviting façade.
Which are your most popular room types, and why? The cabin category : designed to resemble a boat cabin, is both comfortable and functional and ideal for short stays.
What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ? Some Executive rooms and our suite have a sofa bed and can accommodate a child in the room. We also have connected rooms (cabin category), ideal for families.
A new address in Paddington whose name accurately reflects its French ownership and management but gives the impression of a larger and statelier establishment than what is in fact a beautifully designed, boutique London townhouse hotel.
