“A stately home turned into a luxury country hotel with a standout spa. Indulgent rooms and suites are traditionally styled with antiques, sash windows, and fireplaces. Many have deep freestanding tubs. With a choice of restaurants, an elegant bar, and two pools — this is rural luxury defined.”

Hotel review

From the moment you arrive at this grand country manor escape by the Yorkshire Dales, you feel like a VIP. The service is outstanding and warm, reflecting the high standard of this large, elegant hotel. Children over eight are welcome but Grantley Hall is primarily a luxury retreat for adults to unwind in peace. Expect to spend a lot of blissful time at the wow factor spa with its multiple thermal facilities, including an outdoor sauna, ice baths and even a snow room. Warm up in the outdoor hydrotherapy pool while breathing in the countryside air, before soaking up a spa treatment.

Wander the 38 acres of manicured gardens and parkland, including the pretty Japanese Garden, then head to the opulent Norton Bar for cocktails by the fire. Foodies are spoilt for choice with its five superb restaurants, including the fine-dining Michelin-starred Shaun Rankin or the glitzy EightyEight which serves tasty pan-Asian dishes with a Yorkshire twist.

Guest rooms are spacious, comfortable and have muted, classic interiors, featuring marble bathtubs, fully stocked complimentary mini bars and bookshelves of interesting reads.
